Inline Reverse Box :- £599 inc Vat
We pleased to announce we have developed our own inline low friction mechanical reverse box :-
With the introduction of the new IVA test came the stipulation that all cars must be fitted with a reverse system, a problem for most motorcycle engined cars ! , up until now the options where relatively limited to an electric system ( the cheapest variant costing around £350 - £450 ) or an inline unit costing £700 - £800
After testing a couple of electric systems and prototyping our own we dismissed the idea on three counts :-
1. To achieve a powerfull system a large motor is required if the car is to move sufficiently with two people on board on anything more than a flat area
2. A much larger and heavier battery is required to cope with the current draw from a powerfull enough motor
3. Poor quality of engagement and lifespan of the motor and ring gear due to the violent meshing of components
MNR Inline Reverse Box :-
1. In forward motion the unit acts as a straight through shaft, the only drag / powerloss is two cassette bearings front and rear of the casing
2. Virtually zero backlash compaired to most other units
3. A low fill oil capacity which eliminates the need for a breather system
4. Compact unit allowing in most cases for central mounting in the tunnel area helping keep shallow propshaft angles
The graph below is an independant back to back power run conducted on the same day, between the most commonly used reverse unit on the market and the Mnr developed box, which indicates a substantial increase in peak power and a substantial decrease in transmission losses
